Have you tried renting rather than buying your favourite designer dress? I must admit I have been a bit sceptical because as the saying goes “I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet”. As hire boutiques grow in popularity I thought it was time to change my hoarding ways and give it a go for myself.
I recently went to the Fashion at the Races launch at Morphettville Racecourse and I had minimal time to put an outfit together. As you know I love to put together style boards to plan out what I’m going to wear. It’s one of my many fashion addictions but it takes a long time to source all the items and match them together. With a little over a week to plan an outfit for the launch I browsed through Glam Corner’s new spring range to see what I could pull together. This is what I came up with…
A quick way to shop that saves you hundreds of dollars is something I could definitely get used to. The biggest draw card of hiring is that you can wear designer clothing without the price tag. At Glam Corner not only can you hire a beautiful dress or jumpsuit, you can also get matching accessories to arrive on your doorstep in one perfect package. Looking amazing has never been so easy!
I have been in love with the Thurley Flower Bomb dress since it was released but it was way out of my budget to buy. Story of my life! Plus I’d only wear it once and stash it away in my cupboard with all the other neglected dresses. Not only did Glam Corner have my favourite dress they had this amazing one of a kind Studio Aniss headpiece and a pod clutch which… wait for it… is red on one side and nude on the other. SCORE! Two bags in one!!!!
Although the flowers on the dress are pink, the red headpiece and clutch worked really well. I ordered a size 10 because the lace has no give and is a little tight in the arms. The lining was a perfect length and it was a comfortable dress to wear. I was sad when I had to pack the outfit up and post it back (in the return post bag that’s included in the box). I literally booked this whole outfit on my phone while I was in my lunch break. I will definitely hire from Glam Corner again.

It would have cost me just over $1700 to buy everything but by renting I saved $1340. The whole outfit came to $407 to rent (not including postage costs) which is less than half the retail cost of the dress alone. I know, it just makes so much sense. Why didn’t I follow the trend and do this months ago????
‘But what if someone is wearing the same thing?’ I hear you ask. Well here’s the best part. The Maya headpiece is part of an exciting Glam Corner x Studio Aniss collaboration. Aniss Adler, who is an award winning milliner extraordinaire, has created a small collection of one off pieces just for Glam Corner, you can’t buy these pieces or hire them from anywhere else. As a Racewear Carousel follower you can get an exclusive 20% the amazing new collection by using the discount code GC06RCSA20OCT170 (T&C’s apply).
Stuck for race day ideas or don’t have time to browse through hundreds of dresses? Simply choose your favourite outfit, ADD TO CART over at Glam Corner and all you’ll have to do is decide on shoes and earrings. It couldn’t be easier to get a complete look that will save you so much time and money!
